Blake and Brittany Wed

The proposal... where do we start? So I (Blake) now have the ring and realize the obvious thing to do next was to determine when and where to propose.  Both Brittany and I decided earlier in the year that we were in the mood to take a vacation.  We were talking about possibly going to Key West or taking a cruise... well in my mind, I knew regardless we were going to be in Key West at some point because that was the place where I first laid eyes on Brittany.

Fast Forward: We're on the cruise with a bunch of friends having a great time.  It's March 12th, 2010 and we arrive at the Key West Port at 7:00 AM ready to get off the ship and enjoy what Key West has to offer.  Now in my mind, I'm nervous as can be, and I'm trying to act as cool as a cucumber so Brittany doesn't start asking me what my problem is.  We all walk off the ship and start heading down Duval Street... now keep in mind, there's nothing going on in Key West at 7:00 AM so I had to figure out how this was going to go down.  I wanted to do it sooner than later!

The time has come, it's about 8:00 AM and we're walking around Duval Street.  We've passed Fogarty's, the place we met, and I told her, "let's reenact how we first met."  Of course she was embarrassed and said no, but I walked into Fogarty's and pointed her out, waived her over just like I did when we first met except this time I got down on one knee, told her how much I loved her and that I wanted to spend the rest of my life with her.  After a bunch of tears, she said "yes" and we were officially engaged.

On a side note: About 3 seconds after I proposed, she asked numerous times while she was in tears, "did you ask my dad?... did you ask my dad?... did you ask my dad?"  Of course... I asked her dad... I asked him in person that previous Christmas when we were in Kentucky.
